Project STAR - A Hytale Concept

Introduction

We're happy to introduce Project STAR - A Hytale MMORPG focused on player agility and story development. The goal of "Project STAR" is simple: To provide a living and breathing fantasy world that a player can truly live in, a world where they can find a home. We will provide the mechanics: quests, dens, bosses, corruption, purification, etc. It will be completely up to the player what to do with them. One can choose to fight for Eden and battle to reclaim the corruption, they may research, or they may rebel and blow the whole world up... who knows!

 

To properly introduce the project, enjoy the following (very) short story:

The world was peaceful. It was a golden era of economic prosperity in which nature had blossomed and the war had finally settled after so many years. A dispatch of explorer elves had been making their way through Hope's Cavern and stumbled upon a dusty giant... egg? Bringing it back, no analysis was able to break through the shell with no hammer or chisel able to crack through its skin. 3 months and 3 days later, a beautiful blue baby dragon was born. Its aura was higher than any meter could read. Rhaegos soared through the skym - day after day he flew with the fairies and brought natural prosperity wherever he went. The day he turned 3 years old, however, was the last day of his peace. As he soared, he got struck with a deadly source of infectious corruption that, in nearly an instant, turned him into a maniacal raging tyrant. He brought fury upon the elven pastures and began targeting the dwarves and ogres that lived further north. The decision was made. A group of the most powerful elven and dwarven mages came together and trapped Rhaegos along with his corruption with an ancient spell creating a bubble of impenetrable containment. The lords had decreed that the corruption must not spread. No matter the cost. The Kingdom of Eden was established to maintain the bubble and keep Rhaegos trapped within. What happens next? I suppose we’ll find out.
