VFX Artist

As a VFX Artist at Soul Studios, you will be responsible for crafting visually compelling effects that elevate the player experience. From magical spells to realistic environmental effects, your work will directly contribute to the atmosphere, mood, impact, and storytelling of our primarily Bedrock releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and create particle effects, shaders, and other visual sequences for in-game use.
• Collaborate with sound effect artists, concept artists, game-designers, and developers to ensure VFX aligns with gameplay mechanics and art direction.
• Optimize effects for performance while maintaining high visual fidelity.
• Work with developers to implement Visual Effects in-game. (Or implement them yourself!)

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Snowstorm particle systems and Bedrock shader creation.
• Knowledge of how particle effects are implemented within Minecraft Bedrock.
• Experience with VFX pipelines for Minecraft Bedrock.
• Understanding the performance implications of real-time effects.
• Strong artistic sense for motion, timing, and composition.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with the implementation of particle effects within Minecraft Bedrock Addons.
• Past experience working with an active Marketplace team.
• Comfortable with rapid prototyping and iteration.
